sick remix and running shoes
I am sick…with a cold/flu. I can never tell until it is too late…neither can the doctors. Regardless I am on antibiotics hoping it doesn’t get worse…

The Effect of Running Shoes on Lower Extremity Joint Torques
It is interesting to read that these findings show that running shoes do provide great support and protect the foot, but at the cost of providing increased stress to the lower extremities. Basically, you have the choice of either injuring yourself while running unprotected (that is to get cut or roll your ankle while running on an uneven surface while barefoot) or injure your hips, knees and ankles with unneeded stress that could eventually lead to pain and possible surgery.
All this information does make me wonder if shoes like Nike Free were initially created with these types of studies in mind. If that is the case, what type of data do shoe companies have that they are not necessarily sharing with everyone else. Hmm..
I should totally design a running shoe…
